#1 Understanding 'God'
For in him dwelleth the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2;9). For in Christ the Godhead in all its fullness dwells incarnate (TCNT) for in Christ there is all of God in a human Body (Tay). For in Christ the Godhead in all its fullness dwells incarnate (TCNT). All the fullness continues to live embodied (Wms).
A look at the biblical doctrine of the 'Godhead.'
If the word 'trinity' defines and explains God then why doesn't Paul use it? the answer is this, 'trinity' and 'Godhead' are two very opposing definitions of God. 'Trinity' speaks of three in one. Godhead defines the one who is father, Son and Spirit. The 'Godhead' reveals God in Christ. The Godhead reveals Jesus as God. The Godhead takes away the mystery of God and makes it a revelation. The Godhead reveals Jesus as God, something the traditional church has overlooked, ignored and avoided.
Since the 'Godlead' reveals God then God is no longer a mystery. Paul said,..For God hath shewed it unto them. For the Invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and God head; so that they are without excuse (Romans 1:20).
1. The word trinity is 'triune' (webster) triune means 'three in one.' Now even if we were to take the 'trinity' as the definition of God we would find that three in one would reveal that Father Son and Holy Ghost is 'One' not three.
2. The term Godhead is the bible word to define God. One cannot use any other non biblical word to define God and claim to have pure doctrine! The word Godhead clearly reveals on head, one creator, ruler, author and savior. The word 'Godhead' leaves man 'without excuse' or complex mystery to which there is no answer. the Word Godhead reveals Jesus as God. In him dwells the fullness of God. He is the father, he is the Son and He is the spirit ( the spirit of the LORD ) that we know as God.
3. One God having three distinct roles. In my relationship to other people I am Father, Son and friend, not three people but one person. These are titles but my name is Paul, and Paul is my name when I'm a father and Paul is my name also as a son. In fact Paul is my name whatever I'm doing, whatever you call me or wherever I am!
4. The name of God is 'Jehovah Jehoshua Christos' or the 'Lord Jesus Christ' the ultimate redemptive name of God for it reveals everything that God was in the old covenant and all that God is today to us in Jesus.
5. God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost are not biblical terms. Secondly if they were you would have three gods. The logic goes if they are co-equal then because one is God then all three are God's. The worship of three Gods as we know is idol worship.(Ex 20:2-4).
6. For in Christ there is all of God in a human body (Tay).
Paul.
